How does it work?
Plexr Plus is a plasma-based therapy that is extremely safe, minimally invasive, and highly effective.
Plasma is the fourth state of matter, made up of ionized particles which are charged. Plasma is described as “a lightning bolt”. When lightning hits the ground it vaporizes everything and leaves only black carbon. On the skin, plasma vaporizes cells and all that is left is carbon in the form of a crust.” This crust heals, leaving the treated skin behind. As well as vaporizing – or “sublimating” – unwanted skin, it has the triple effect of causing the remaining tissues to tighten and boosting collagen production.
The Plexr Plus device creates plasma by ionizing gas particles between its precise 0.5mm-wide probe and the skin, creating a small electrical arc, which, when applied near the skin, sublimates the surface of the skin (turning the surface into gas). The technology is very precise so specific areas like the eyelids can be treated without touching or harming the skin. This plasma beam generates heat and causes sublimation of the outermost part of the epidermis (outer layer of the skin), without damage to the surrounding or deeper structure of the skin.
This allows an immediate contraction/tightening and reorganization of the collagen fibres. It also stimulates skin fibroblast cells in the deeper skin dermis, which leads to the formation of new collagen and a renewal of the epidermal tissue.

How to prepare for the treatment?
Please note that there is a significant period of “social downtime” after Plexr Plus treatments.
Before undergoing a Plexr Plus procedure be sure to plan your work and social engagements accordingly for up to 2 weeks, the expected period that your healing skin will be quite unsightly, scabby and swollen. Plexr Plus is NOT a no-downtime procedure.
However, the permanent results are well worth it!
What to expect?
On the day of treatment, topical freezing cream will be applied to the treatment area. After the appropriate freezing time, the area is cleansed. Our team member will then use the Plexr Plus device, working in a small grid to create a retraction of the skin in the treatment area creating fine grey-brown scales, called “carbon crusts”. Immediate contraction will be visible. The full appointment takes around one hour to ninety minutes, depending on the areas of treatment.
Carbon crusts take 5-10 days to fall off. They will look burnt and brown before falling off on their own. Skin will look red and flaky, and may possibly be itchy for 2-3 weeks.
Swelling is expected. In the eyelid area, swelling may last up to 7 days. It can be severe during the first 3-4 days.
Results are permanent, and further improvement can be seen up to 1 year after treatment. Additional treatments, if needed, cannot usually be performed within 12 weeks (3 months) of the initial treatment.
You will be seen for follow-up 2 weeks and 4 weeks after your Plexr Plus treatment.
How soon will I see results?
Results are immediately visible and permanent, however, there is a period of healing after treatment that is vital for the success of the treatment.
Further improvement can be seen up to 1 year after treatment. Additional treatments, if needed, cannot usually be performed within 12 weeks (3 months) of the initial treatment.
Aftercare
After care instructions must be followed precisely.
Strict sun-protection practices must be followed (SPF 40 minimum, physical sunscreen, applied daily for at least 3 months) and picking of scabs must be absolutely avoided after treatment to prevent complications or sub-par results.
