The laser hair removal procedure uses a beam of light that your hair pigment absorbs making it heat up quickly. The instant flash of heat damages the hair follicle, preventing future growth – but will not cause you pain.
After treatment, your hair follicles in the growth phase are damaged and are permanently unable to create new hairs, or will produce small, thin hairs that are basically invisible. Eventually, over a few scheduled sessions, all hair follicles in the treatment area will be exposed during their growth period.
Laser hair removal is safe to be used on all types of skin from very light tones to very dark. It is typically most effective on those with dark hair. Patients with very light or grey hair are not ideal. There are a range of deciding factors that will determine if you are a good candidate and will be assessed during your consultation.
